What nickname do you prefer to be called?

Except for the inappropriate names my friends call me, David, Dave, Davy and D are all fine with me.

What is your role at Vista Health?

As the Head of Business Development, I spend much of my time in communication with referrers, insurers and other medical organisations discussing the scope and benefits of using Vista Health’s service. The key is always to make them feel at ease and trust that we are a reliable and valuable extension of their patient pathway. I want them to feel as looked after as we make our patients feel.

What is your background?

I grew up in the heart of London, went to school in Kent and most of my family live in Zambia and Nigeria. My influences have been varied, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have been taught and guided by a mix of great family members, teachers, lecturers and sports coaches.

I worked in the NHS as a Cardiac Physiologist for several years (which was incredibly rewarding), before leaping into private healthcare in clinical, operational and later commercial roles.

What do you like about working at Vista Health?

The team ethos is great. There’s a real willingness to get things done, work hard and support each other. Although I’m new to the team, and a pain at times, everyone is supportive and takes the collective goals and responsibilities seriously. It makes it easy to overcome challenges when everyone around you is putting in a shift.

What are the values that drive you?

Honesty, sincerity and a desire to help others. Any success we have stems from a trust in our service and the ability to deliver it in a caring, responsible and dependable way. Whether this be with our referrers, other organisations or directly with the patients.

Who inspired you to pursue the career you have today?

My parents. They didn’t mind what I did as long as it was in healthcare and as long as I did it well.
