This Sporting CPD Event, co-hosted with The Schoen Clinic, will be focusing on the diagnosis of conditions and injuries associated with the sport of Boxing.
Leading Shoulder and Spinal Surgeons, Livio Di Mascio and Adrian J Carlos will be presenting case studies, sharing knowledge and insights into the diagnosis and treatment of injuries in this sport..
Boxing places serious stress and strain on the head, the neck, the shoulders, the spine and the legs, not to mention the hands and wrists. This event will look at interesting case-studies in these areas, with in-depth knowledge and insights from our speakers..
Mr Di Mascio is now the lead of the Upper Limb Orthopaedic Department at The Royal London Hospital where he has worked since his return from Australia in 2011. The unit is one of the busiest tertiary referral trauma units in the United Kingdom and receives trauma and elective tertiary referrals from London and the South East.He has an interest in treating sporting injuries of the upper limb and continues to treat patients from amateur to elite athletes. He also has a keen interest in research and outcomes and is the co-investigator in national and internationally funded research
Mr Carlos has been a substantive Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon since 2012. He was first appointed in Manchester where he developed a popular, modern and successful upper limb service. He led a transformation that saw the unit become a leading centre for shoulder surgery. Mr Carlos took up his current post as Lead for Upper Limb Surgery at Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre in 2014 and is a current member of the orthopaedic trauma service provided at the famous Royal London Hospital, a level 1 trauma centre.
