What a Small Bowel MRI Scan Detects

How To Prepare For Your MRI Scan
In some cases, patients are asked to fast before the procedure, but this is rare. You will likely have no restrictions on food and medication apart from those dictated by your doctor.
Your radiologist also needs to know if you have any implants or conditions that could make the procedure unsafe for you. These include:

- Pregnancy
- Claustrophobia
- Allergy to MRI contrast material
Your radiologist may recommend a different diagnostic exam if they judge MRI scans to be unsafe for you.
