Prevention is always better than a cure. You can prevent pathologies from developing by getting a full-body MRI scan. It also maximises your chances of a full recovery.

What a Full-Body MRI Scan Detects

Your scan will produce cross-sectional images of different body parts to show any abnormalities. You can then take the diagnostic report to your physician to discuss a suitable treatment plan.

How To Prepare For Your MRI Scan

Preparing for your MRI scan is easy. You just need to inform our patient care team of your medical history. They need to know if you have any of the following implants or conditions:

  • Pregnancy
  • Claustrophobia
  • Allergy to MRI contrast material
  • Implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD)
  • Pacemaker
  • Artificial heart valves
  • Artificial joints
  • Cochlear implants

Your radiologist may have to adjust the procedure or recommend a different one should they find that an MRI scan would be unsafe for you. However, it is generally safe for most people.

You may be asked to fast before your scan, but this is a rare occurrence. Unless you’re told otherwise, you can eat and take medication normally.
